Royals 3 Angels 1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Esteban German (hur-MAHN') hit a rare
homer to support Jorge De La Rosa in Kansas City's 3-to-1 triumph
over the Los Angeles Angels.
German had gone 143 at-bats without a round-tripper before
hitting a three-run blast in the seventh inning. The homer ended
the Angels' four-game winning streak and prevented Mike Scioscia
(SOH'-shuh) from becoming the Halos' winningest manager.
De La Rosa is 3-and-2 after allowing five hits in seven innings,
blanking the Angels after Chone (shawn) Figgins poked an R-B-I
single in the fifth.
Joakim Soria tossed the ninth for his fourth save in as many
chances.
Ervin Santana served up German's homer and dropped to 2-and-4,
yielding eleven hits in six and a-third.
