Shockers Defeat Evansville

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Tyler Weber hit a home run and had two
RBIs, which was enough to lead Wichita State to a 7-to-1 win over
Evansville Sunday.

Andy Dirks went 3-for-5 and had a home run for the Shockers
(36-12, 15-3 Missouri Valley), whose pitchers did not allow an
Evansville run until the top of the ninth inning.

Anthony Capra (4-0) gave up three hits over five innings to earn
the win for Wichita State.

Kirk Bacsu had a pair of hits for the Purple Aces (29-17, 10-8),
which managed only seven hits for the game.

Mark Murray (3-3) gave up four runs on eight hits in three
innings to take the loss.
