Shockers Defeat Jayhawks on Diamond

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Andy Dirks stole second base and scored on
a single by Conor Gillaspie to give Wichita State a 2-to-1 win over
Kansas tonight.

Kansas (19-23) took a 1-to-nothing lead in the fifth inning when Brock Simpson doubled, stole third and scored on a wild pitch by Anthony Capra.

The Shockers (31-9) made it 1-to-1 in the seventh on an RBI single by pinch-hitter Tyler Hill.

Gillaspie hit his game-winning R-B-I single one inning later off Kansas reliever Paul Smyth (3-3).

Noah Booth (6-1) earned the win, giving up one hit and striking
out three in two innings of relief.
