Senior quarterback Ell Roberson
of seventh-ranked Kansas State has a hand injury
that will sideline him indefinitely.

The Wildcat star was hurt early in Saturday night's 55-to-14
home victory over McNeese State. K-State Coach Bill Snyder is not
sure how the injury to Roberson's non-throwing hand occurred.

But Snyder said yesterday it appears the Wildcats probably will
be without him for a period of time. The coach indicated Roberson
might not return until October fourth, when K-State begins Big 12
Conference play at Number six Texas.

The 3-and-oh Wildcats host Division one-double-A Massachusetts
Saturday, Marshall the following week and then have an open date
before going to Austin. Little-used senior Jeff Schwinn should
start against U-Mass.
