COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Greg Folgia homered twice and drove in five
runs to lead Missouri over Kansas 8-5 Friday night, the seventh
straight Big 12 win for the Tigers.
Folgia hit a solo shot in the first off Jayhawk starter Shaeffer
Hall (4-5).
In the sixth, Folgia hit a three-run, inside-the-park home run
off the center-field wall. Kansas outfielder Jason Brunansky was
hurt trying to make the play, and the ball got away from him as
Folgia rounded the bases.
Kyle Gibson (9-3) earned the win for Missouri (29-22, 15-10 Big
12). Gibson went eight innings, giving up four earned runs on seven
hits while striking out eight.
Kansas (34-17, 12-10) scored all five of its runs on homers,
starting with Buck Afenir's three-run shot in the third. The
Jayhawks also got solo homers by Robby Price in the eighth and Tony
Thompson in the ninth.
Folgia's two-homer game was his second of the year.
