Are the Chiefs Prime for a Letdown?
NCAA
Reporter: AP

(Kansas City-AP) -- Instead of leveling off, the Kansas City Chiefs appear to be gathering strength.

Now there's talk about a let-down for the NFL's last unbeaten team. But Coach Dick Vermeil won't hear of it.

The perfect place and time for the Chiefs to be a bit off their game would seem to be this Sunday at Cincinnati.

At 9-0, the Chiefs are two games ahead of their nearest rivals in the drive for home field advantage in the playoffs.

The Bengals have more losses than wins. And wide receiver Chad Johnson is guaranteeing a Cincinnati win.

So maybe the Chiefs could relax just a bit. Vermeil's aiming toward the top, though.

A victory would be their fifth straight on the road -- the longest since 1971-72. And the Chiefs would become only the ninth team since 1970 to begin a season 10-0.
