Freshmen lead Wichita St. over Centenary

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Garrett Stutz scored 22 points and fellow
freshman Toure Murry added 15 to lead Wichita State over Centenary
65-44 on Monday night.
Stutz, a 7-footer making his first start for the Shockers (2-1),
scored 15 of his game-high total in the first half on 7-of-10
shooting from the field. Murry did all of his scoring in the second
half.
Centenary (1-4) was led by Chase Adams with 13 points.
Wichita State led throughout, but the Gents came within 24-20 at
halftime on a 3-pointer by Nick Stallings just before the buzzer.
But Murry scored 13 points on three 3-pointers and two layups to
help the Shockers widen the lead to 39-28 in the first 5 minutes of
the second half.
Wichita State shot 53 percent from the field for the game while
Centenary shot just 31 percent.
