Volunteers Prepare for Golf Tournament

July 1 - Saturday night marked the official kick off party for the 2006 U.S. Senior open at the Prairie Dunes Golf Course in Hutchinson. The championship doesn't start until Thursday but this weekend hundreds of volunteers gathered to celebrate the hard work that goes into a national tournament.

Practice rounds begin Monday at Prairie Dunes. The tournament will run through next weekend.

The United States Golf Association has held 16 previous championships in the state of Kansas, the most recent being the 2002 U.S. Women's Open at Prairie Dunes. This is the first Senior Open in Kansas. To order tickets, call the Championship office at (877) 325-GOLF.
