The Wichita Wild and Head Coach Ken Matous have finalized the process
of hiring assistant coaches for the 2009 season. The Wild coaching
staff will be the most experienced staff in the league with over 70
years of coaching experience.

Rick Lee and Troy Black will both return to the staff after coaching
the team in 2008. Lee will be entering his third season with the
Wild, while this will be Black?s second with the team. New to the
staff this year are Morris Lolar and Wendall Davis. Both Lolar and
Davis have strong ties to the Wichita area.

Lee started his coaching career in 1987 at Rose Hill High School as an
assistant coach. Lee then went on to a five-year run as an assistant
at Wichita Collegiate High School. Rick?s first taste of being a Head
Coach came in 1993 at Skyline High School. After the 1999 season, Lee
took the reins of the Halstead High School football team until 2002.
In 10 seasons as a Head Coach, Lee led his teams to five playoff
appearances. Lee is currently an assistant for the Andover High
School football team where he has been since 2004.

Black played high school football at Fredonia High School where the
Yellow Jackets won the Class 4A State Championship in 1983. Black
went on to play offensive line at Bethel College where he was a
three-year starter for the Threshers.

Black?s coaching career started in 1989 at Bishop Carroll where he
coached the freshman team for two seasons. For the next five seasons,
Black was an assistant coach at Collegiate High School. In those five
seasons, the Spartans were 46-10 including Class 3A State Runner-Up in
1993 and State Champion in 1994. Black then returned to Fredonia
where he was an assistant for the 1996 and 1997 seasons before taking
the Head Coach position. Troy led the Yellow Jackets to a 27-13
record including Class 3AState Runner-Up in 1998. Black left Fredonia
following the 2001 season to be an assistant coach at Valley Center
High School, where he was until 2003.

Black is currently a Middle School PE teacher and an assistant
football coach at Collegiate High School where he has been since the
2004 season. Troy and his wife Michelle have three children, Ryan and
Allison Emmitt (twins, age 12) and Brett (age 3).

Davis starred at North High School in Wichita and was a two-time
all-city linebacker. Davis took his talents to Coffeyville Community
College where he was named the 3rd best Junior College player in
America by Superprep Magazine. Davis wound up heading for the
University of Oklahoma where he played in every game his junior season
compiling 44 tackles for the Sooners.

Davis was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the 6th round of the 1996
NFL Draft. Davis played in 28 games his first two season with the
Cowboys. Davis suffered an injury prior to the 1998 season and spent
training camp with the Washington Redskins in 1999. Davis re-joined
the Cowboys in November of 1999 and saw action in six games. In 2000,
Wendall played for the San Francisco Demons of the XFL and in 2001
Davis played for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football
League before starting his career in Arena Football. Davis played
briefly with the Grand Rapids Rampage in 2001 and then joined the San
Jose SabreCats where he spent the next four seasons. Davis was a part
of the Arena Bowl Championship teams in 2002 and 2004 for the
SaberCats. Davis finished his Arena career in Arizona in 2006. He
finished with 142.5 tackles in his 5 seasons in the AFL.

Davis is currently in his second season as the Defensive Coordinator
of Maize High School after one season as an assistant at North High
School. Davis lives in Wichita with his wife, LaTisha, and son,
Jackson. Wendall?s daughter, Ashley, is a freshman at Oklahoma City
Community College and his son, Jared, resides in Dallas.

Lolar was a three-year starter and two-time All American as a
defensive back at Friends University in Wichita. In 1993, Lolar began
his professional career with the Canadian Football League?s Edmonton
Eskimos. Lolar spent four seasons with the Eskimos and played one
with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Lolar has coached collegiately at Bethany College, Friends University,
and Texas A&M-Commerce. Lolar is currently an assistant at Wichita
East High School. Morris has also coached at Wichita North and
