Illinois' Self in Lawrence; Kansas Schedules News Conference

(Lawrence-AP) -- University of Kansas officials say a news
conference is scheduled for 1 p-m tomorrow to introduce its new
men's basketball coach.

The word comes as Illinois' Bill Self arrived in Lawrence today,
amid reports that he would leave the Illini to become the Jayhawks'
coach.

A source within the K-U athletic department says the news
conference was deferred until tomorrow because Self did not want it
to conflict with the Easter holiday.

The 40-year-old Self ate with Jayhawks' players and school
officials this afternoon.

He flew into Lawrence earlier in the day, accompanied by interim
Kansas athletic director Drue Jennings.

Kansas received permission last week to speak with Self about
replacing Roy Williams, who left to coach North Carolina.
