Bill Self reportedly has accepted the head basketball coaching post at Kansas. A news conference has been scheduled for Monday morning to announce the hiring.

Self will replace Roy Williams, who left Kansas for North Carolina last week.

Self and KU interim athletics director Drue Jennings arrived in Lawrence Sunday afternoon on a private jet. Both have declined comment.

Self has told his players of his decision. He has been at Illinois for three years.

Reports confirm Self has agreed to a five-year a contract with Kansas worth about $1.1 million per season.
