(LAWRENCE)- KU used a strong 2nd half to beat Louisiana Tech and improve to (2-0). Todd Reesing shoulderd the offensive load as the running game once again struggled. Angus Quigley eventually got the ground game going, ending up with 84 yards to lead KU. Reesing picked up the slack, with an efficient 32/38 passing night for 410 yards and 3 touchdowns. Two of Reesing's touchdown tosses connected with freshman Daymond Patterson. Patterson, who electrified the Memorial Stadium crowd last Saturday with a 75 yard punt return for a TD, caught two touchdown passes against Louisiana Tech and hauled in 8 total catches for 130 yards. Dezmon Briscoe, quickly becoming Todd Reesing's favorite target this season, had 7 catches for a game-high 144 yards. Briscoe's 48 yard 3rd quarter touchdown seemed to shift the momentum in KU's favor. The Jayhawk defense was obviously a big part of the story on Saturday night. Chris Harris helped with an interception as the Jayhawks posted their first shut-out since they defeated Southeastern Louisiana almost one year ago to the day.
