Heat guard Mario Chalmers was sent home Wednesday
from the NBA's mandatory rookie transition program for violating
unspecified league rules.

Several media outlets, including ESPN.com, cited sources as saying Chalmers and former Jayhawk Darrell Arthur were sent home after they were found with marijuana in their hotel room.

Both the Heat and Chalmers' agent, Sam Goldfeder, confirmed to
The Associated Press that Chalmers left the program. Neither would
divulge the reasons why the former Kansas star, who hit the
overtime-forcing jumper in the Jayhawks' win over Memphis in the
national championship game five months ago, was asked to depart
early.

"I'm in the process of investigating what exactly is going
on," Goldfeder said.

The Heat said they are also investigating.

Was wondering why the sports broadcaster on Chanal 10 has to keep raising and lowering his voice during the broadcast. It is annoying to hear him broadcast some of the scores and highlights of the games. You would think he was at the ball game and hollering for his favorite team.

I'm reserving my comments until I have all the facts. Everyone is always trying to take KU down - remember Arthur's grades?? Your true fans love you boys no matter what. Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk!!!

I guess their free trip through colege and life so they could play ball didnt teach them about responsibility or how to hide their pot.

The night KU won the NCAA Championship, I put up some blue Christmas lights that I'd found when I was cleaning my room the previous week. I was all excited as I watched the post-game coverage on all the sports channels, recording everything they said about the game. It was one of the most AWESOME nights of my life! And although pretty much nothing can take away that night for me as a KU fan, I am still really disappointed about what Mario and Darrell have done. btw, about a week ago I noticed half of my blue Christmas lights were no longer working. Well, about an hour ago I noticed they're all out... guess I can take them down now.

To "Shocked", nothing was said about race. Gee what a "shock" something said and the first thing people think is race. Take responsibilty for your own actions and stop throwing this "race" card around. White or Black they messed their future up.

To Anonymous Sept. 3rd 4:07PM ......... what gives you the right to assume that this 2 men grew up in bondage and worse, you have the audacity to say ".....always return to the same activities that keep them in bondage...." Choose your words correctly and do your research before you generalize a person due to their race.

How sad that Arthur and especially Chalmers have let down so many people who have looked up to them as heroes. It's devastating to the die hard KU fans who have held them in high esteem.

Why do these young men who are given such an opportunity to do something with their lives to make them better, always have to return to the same activities that keep them in bondage to the streets they grew up on. Is their need to be identified with that old side of life that valuable to them to ruin the one that's waiting for them in their future? So many kids would like the opportunity they had and look what they do with it. Very Sad.
