Gray skies and flurries couldn't keep Kansas basketball fans from welcoming their Jayhawks home.

Several hundred faithful gathered this afternoon at Forbes Field in Topeka.

One is retiree Rick Dalton of Topeka, who said: "This is a time when they need all the support they can get."

Dalton, a 1948 graduate, said he's bothered by all the speculation that coach Roy Williams might leave to take over at North Carolina.

At the airport no mention was made of the North Carolina job. But some fans held signs, including one reading, "I don't give a, expletive, bout North Carolina."

The sign refers to Williams' reply to a reporter's post-game question.

KU held a celebration rally at Allen Field House.
