Peralta rejoins Royals' bullpen; Fulchino optioned
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Royals are recalling
reliever Joel Peralta.
Peralta is a 32-year-old right-hander and was with the Royals
earlier this season. He was optioned back to the minors after going
0-2 with a 5.64 ERA in 18 appearances.
At Triple-A Omaha, he was 1-0 with two saves and didn't allow a
run in 18 2-3 innings.
The Royals optioned right-hander Jeff Fulchino, who had a 9.00
ERA and no decisions in five relief appearances, allowing nine hits
and five walks in six innings.

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts made a handful of roster moves today, as they gear up for the second half of the season.
The Wingnuts added outfielder Leivi Ventura (pronounced LEV-ee), re-signed designated hitter Jose Amado and released outfielder Heath Keel. The Wingnuts also placed infielder David Gates on the disabled list.
Ventura joins the Wingnuts from St. Lucie - the New York Mets Florida State League Team - where he hit .226 with seven home runs in 47 games. Amado, a former Wichita Wrangler as well, is in his second stint with the Wingnuts this season. He was released due to injury, but is now healthy again. He hit .238 in his first stint with the Wingnuts.
