Aaron Shafer allowed just six hits and
struck out eight as Wichita State poured on the offense, beating
Missouri State 20-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament
semifinal Friday.

Wichita State (43-15) got a total of 13 hits, including home
runs by Conor Gillaspie and Tyler Weber. Gillaspie also got a
double on his way to three hits and five RBIs. Weber went
two-for-five with six runs batted in.

Shafer (10-3), who pitched a complete seven-inning game, got the

Buddy Baumann (6-4) got the loss for Missouri State, giving up
nine runs and five walks in one and a third innings.

Ben Carlson provided the scoring for Missouri State (39-16),
hitting a three-run homer in fourth inning. Chris Playter went
two-for-three, including a double.
