BOSTON (AP) -- The Kansas City Royals have reinstated catcher
John Buck and optioned catcher Matt Tupman to Triple-A Omaha.
Buck missed the weekend series in Florida to be with his wife,
who had complications in her pregnancy. She gave birth to twin sons
about 12 weeks early. The Royals say the situation has stabilized.
Tupman made his major league debut against the Marlins, with a
pinch-single in his first at-bat. He returns to the minors with a
1.000 batting average.
