WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Wichita State got eight runs in the first
inning and never looked back in a 21-5 run-rule win over Bradley
Saturday.
The win ended the regular season and gave the Shockers (41-15,
19-5) the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title and top
seed in next week's conference tournament.
Wichita State sent nine hitters to the plate before Bradley
recorded an out in the first inning. Bradley starter Collen Brennan
(0-4) was pulled without recording an out after facing eight
batters.
The Shockers batted around in the fourth and added nine runs to
take a 17-1 lead.
Anthony Capra (9-0) went six innings, allowed six hits and one
earned run.
