KC pitcher apologizes for injuring hand

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Kansas City left-hander John Bale is
apologizing to teammates for punching a door and breaking his
pitching hand. Bale slammed his hand into a door in his hotel room
in Cleveland on Friday.
He made a brief statement today but didn't give any details.
Bale was probably headed to the bullpen after coming back from
the disabled list for shoulder fatigue. Now he's expected to be out
perhaps two months with a broken hand.
Rookie Luke Hochevar was expected to replace Bale in the
starting rotation.
In three starts, Bale is 0-3 with a 7.63 ERA.
Hochevar was called up when Bale went on the disabled list. He's
2-1 with a 4.86 ERA.
