Royals 2 Blue Jays 1
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Luke Hochevar (HOH'-cheh-vahr) picked up
his first major league win and Jose Guillen homered in Kansas
City's 2-1 verdict over Toronto.
Hochevar limited the Blue Jays to a run and six hits in six
innings to lower his ERA to 5.91. He evened his record at 1-and-1
with help from Joakim Soria's (joh-KEEM' SOHR'-ee-uhz) sixth save.
Guillen's second homer of the season snapped a 1-1 tie in the
sixth, two innings after Russ Gload singled home the game's first
run.
The Jays scored their lone run on Tony Pena Junior's error at
shortstop in the fifth.
Shaun Marcum absorbed Toronto's sixth straight loss despite
allowing just four hits in seven innings. Marcum is 2-and-2.
