Wichita St. 8, So. Illinois 3

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Anthony Capra gave up three runs on four
hits today, as Wichita State beat Southern Illinois 8-3.
Conor Gillaspie had a pair of hits and three RBIs, Dusty Coleman
had three hits and two RBIs and Bret Bascue also knocked in two for
the Shockers.
Southern Illinois (20-17, 4-8 Missouri Valley) jumped out to a
1-0 lead in the second inning, but Wichita State (30-7, 9-3 MVC)
responded with three in the third. The Shockers added two more runs
in the fourth and three more in the sixth for the win.
Southern Illinois' Bret Maugeri hit the game's only home run, a
solo shot.
Capra (7-0) earned the win. Starter Andrew Dunn gave up four
runs on six its over three innings to record the loss.
