OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Jack Hannahan's two-run double
highlighted a five-run fourth inning and the Oakland Athletics
topped Kansas City 7-1.
Dana Eveland improved to 2-and-1 giving up a run on three hits
over 5 2-3 innings.
The A's battered rookie phenom Luke Hochevar (HOH'-chay-vur) for
six runs on nine hits over 4 2-3 innings. He was called up before
the game from Triple-A Omaha to replace Hideo Nomo, who was
released.
