KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs today signed return specialist B.J. Sams to a one-year contract and fullback Chris Manderino to a two-year deal.
Sams played his first three seasons with Baltimore. He missed 15 games last season with torn knee ligaments. Sams has a career punt-return average of 10.9 yards and has returned two punts for touchdowns. He has also averaged 22.9 yards on kickoff returns.
Sams will try to replace Eddie Drummond, who became an unrestricted free agent.
Manderino entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Cincinnati in 2006. He spent last season on the Bengals' practice squad. Manderino will compete to replace starting fullback Kris Wilson, who signed with Philadelphia during the offseason.
