Royals pick-up comeback win in '08 opener

Royals 5 Tigers 4, 11 innings

DETROIT (AP) -- Tony Pena Junior singled home the go-ahead run in
the top of the 11th inning and the Kansas City Royals beat the
Tigers 5-4 on Opening Day in Detroit.
Alex Gordon hit a two-run homer for the Royals, while
high-priced acquisition Miguel Cabrera hit a solo homer in his
Tigers debut. Carlos Guillen also went deep for Detroit.
Leo Nunez struck out three over two innings of relief for the
win while the loss went to Denny Bautista. Joakim Soria (wah-KEEM'
SOHR'-ee-uh) pitched an inning for the save.
