Kansas women's team loses at WNIT

Michigan St 58, Kansas 54

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Allyssa DeHaan had 16 points and
seven rebounds as Michigan State beat Kansas 58-54 tonight in the
third round of the women's NIT.
Brittney Thomas added 10 points and seven rebounds for the
Spartans (21-13), who advance to a quarterfinal game against
Michigan (19-13) on Sunday.
Danielle McCray led Kansas (17-16) with 18 points, nine rebounds
and eight steals.
Krysten Boogaard had 10 points and five rebounds and Taylor
McIntosh had 11 rebounds for the Jayhawks.
Michigan State took a 26-24 lead at halftime on two free throws
by Thomas after Kansas had held the Spartans scoreless for nearly
six minutes.
Kansas opened the second half with an 8-2 run, but Michigan
State fought back to take a 38-34 lead.
Kansas got within 52-49 when McCray made two free throws.
