SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Hideo Nomo will make the trip with the Kansas City Royals to Milwaukee for a weekend series with the Brewers.
Nomo is trying to make a comeback at age 39 and is battling for the final spot in the Royals' bullpen. He's suffering from a groin strain that occurred when he pitched Tuesday against San Diego.
Nomo has not pitched in the majors since 2005. He pitched in winter ball last year after elbow surgery in 2006.
Nomo is 1-0 in spring training with a 4.80 earned run average in seven games. He has struck out 17 and walked only three in 15 innings.
