Beasley and Mayo match up in first round of NCAA tourney

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Kansas State's Michael Beasley and O.J. Mayo
of USC have been friends since their early teens, but both say they
have no friends on the court.
Mayo led the sixth-seeded Trojans (21-11) in scoring at 20
points a game and also led them in assists, steals and 3-point
Beasley had an even better season at Kansas State (20-11),
averaging 26 points and 12 rebounds to contend with North
Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough for player of the year honors.
Mayo is an even better friend of Kansas State's Bill Walker.
They're both from Huntington, West Virginia, and have known each
other since preschool.
The sixth-seeded Trojans and the 11th-seeded Wildcats play
tomorrow night in the Midwest regional in Omaha.
