SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Josh Hamilton hit a two-run double as the
Texas Rangers beat the Kansas City Royals 6-1 today in the Cactus
League opener for both teams.
Hamilton played only 15 professional games from 2003-06 after
being suspended for violating baseball's drug policy.
Right-hander Luke Hochevar (HOH'-chay-vur) pitched two perfect
innings for the Royals and didn't allow the ball out of the
Taylor Teagarden homered off veteran left-hander Ron Mahay to
lead off the Rangers' seventh.
Japanese reliever Yasuhiko Yabuta made his Royals debut and gave
up two runs on three hits in the eighth.
Tony Pena Junior singled in the fifth to drive in the only
Kansas City run.
