Shockers Lose NCAA Tournament Opener
June 4--Winthrop scored a run in the bottom of the 8th, to beat Wichita State in the opening round in the NCAA baseball regional in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Winthrop's pitcher Kevin Slowey struck out 12 WSU batters.
Next up for Wichita State is an elimination game Saturday in Knoxville.
