TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona State has begun an internal investigation into allegations of academic fraud and recruiting violations in its top-ranked baseball program.
Former player and team manager Mikel Moreno tells the East Valley Tribune he had made the allegations to university officials, who have launched the investigation.
The Tribune reports the allegations involve academic fraud and recruiting improprieties and other potential violations.
The university confirms an investigation has begun but would not provide details.
The Sun Devils are off to a 3-and-0 start and are ranked Number-1 in several polls.
