KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs released veteran
wide receiver Eddie Kennison today.
The 35-year-old Kennison played for the Chiefs for seven seasons
and was their top receiver for much of that time. But last season,
hamstring and shoulder injuries limited him to only eight games,
catching 13 passes for 101 yards.
Kennison had 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2004 and 2005,
joining Carlos Carson as the only players in Chiefs history to have
consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
Besides the Chiefs, Kennison has played for St. Louis, New
Orleans, Chicago and Denver during his 12-year career.
