KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs took a step
toward resolving one of their most glaring weaknesses, signing
kicker Billy Cundiff to a two-year contract.
Cundiff signed as a rookie free agent with Dallas in 2002 and
spent four seasons with the Cowboys. He played for New Orleans in
2006 and was waved by Atlanta before the start of last season after
attending training camp with the Falcons.
Cundiff is expected to compete with John Carney and Nick Novak,
who has 16 games of NFL experience and also signed with the Chiefs
on Monday.
Carney made all three of his field goal attempts after replacing
Dave Raynor in November.
