It looked like a tough break last May when
Brandon Rush tore his ACL during a practice game, just days after
deciding to enter the NBA draft.

But now, observers believe the injury may have been a blessing
in disguise for the player and the Jayhawks.

The Jayhawks are 22-1 going into Saturday's game against Baylor.
And many believe Rush is a better player and probably a better pro
prospect than he was a year ago.

Kansas Coach Bill Self says the injury has been a blessing in
disguise for the KU team, but he wouldn't say it was a blessing for
Rush. He says if Rush hadn't been hurt, he's be in the NBA now and
that was Rush's ultimate dream.

But Rush agrees that he's playing better than he did last year.
And he hopes to finally shed his knee brace on Saturday and play
without it for the first time all year.
