MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Kansas State has signed 19 players from
junior colleges in its 2008 football recruiting class.
Kansas State has gone just 12-13 in two seasons under coach Ron
Prince, who says the Wildcats needed some older, more mature
Twelve of the 19 are rated among the top 100 junior college
players in the country by Rivals.com. That's the most of any
Kansas State had trouble last year stopping the run, so the
Wildcats added six defensive linemen. They include 6-foot-4,
310-pound Daniel Colvin from Bakersfield College in California.
He's rated the 14th-best junior college prospect in the country.
Kansas State also added linebackers for its 3-4 defense, along
with a top-rated wide receiver and a punter.
Prince also says he's excited about 6-foot-2, 230-pound running
back Daniel Thomas.
