MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Kansas State set two NCAA records and
tied another in an 85-25 rout of Savannah State tonight.
The Wildcats (10-4) held Savannah State to only four points in
the second half.
Savannah State (8-13) missed its first 15 shots of the second
half and fell behind 72-22 as Kansas State opened with a 35-1 run.
Joseph Flegler hit a 3-pointer with 5:48 left for the Tigers
only field goal of the second half.
They shot 1-for-23 in the half, breaking the NCAA record for
worst shooting percentage and fewest points in a half since the
shot clock was introduced in 1986. The one field goal also tied the
mark for fewest in a half.
Michael Beasley had 25 points and 10 rebounds for Kansas State
and Bill Walker and Dominique Sutton added 12 points each.
Flegler had eight to lead Savannah State.
