RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Governor Tim Kaine is placing a
friendly wager on the outcome of the 2008 Orange Bowl featuring
Virginia Tech and the University of Kansas.
Kaine's office says that if the Hokies win, Kansas Governor
Kathleen Sebelius (suh-BEEL'-yuhs) will send Kaine an assortment of
Kansas beef. But if the Jayhawks win, Kaine will send along a
Virginia ham.
Kaine grew up in Overland Park and graduated from the University
of Missouri, but he's a well-known fan of Virginia Tech.
Kaine says he doesn't want to jinx the team, but he thinks
Tech's defense is going to handle Kansas pretty easily.
Sebelius says the Jayhawks have a winning combination of depth
of talent and coaching.
The Orange Bowl is Thursday, January 3rd, in Miami.
