KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Tight end Tony Gonzalez and defensive
end Jared Allen were the Kansas City Chiefs named to the Pro Bowl
Gonzalez broke the NFL record for touchdown catches by a tight
end this season, and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the ninth
time in his 11-year career.
Gonzalez is second among tight ends this year with 82 catches
and 971 yards receiving.
He is also second all-time with 9,681 yards receiving and 803
career catches. He trails Shannon Sharpe in both categories.
It's the first selection for Allen, who was a fourth-round pick
from Idaho State.
Allen is the first Kansas City defensive lineman to make the Pro
Bowl since Neil Smith and Dan Saleaumua in 1995.
Left guard Brian Waters failed to make the Pro Bowl for the
first time in four years. It's the first time since 1994 that no
offensive lineman from Kansas City was selected.
