KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs have added
running back Jackie Battle to the 53-man roster from the practice
squad.
Battle is 6-foot-2 and 238 pounds. He signed with Dallas in 2007
as a rookie free agent and joined the Chiefs' practice squad last
month.
Battle rushed for a school-record 31 touchdowns and averaged 4.8
yards on 441 carries during his college career at Houston.
Injuries have decimated Kansas City's running backs this year.
Pro Bowler Larry Johnson has been out much of the year with a foot
injury, and former Pro Bowler Priest Holmes retired on the advice
of doctors.
In other moves today, the Chiefs added tight end Zac Alcorn and
linebacker Mickey Pimentel to the practice squad.
