KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Kansas City Chiefs president Carl
Peterson is facing what could be his worst season in 19 years with
the team.
But Peterson says he and head coach Herm Edwards are NOT in
danger of losing their jobs.
The Chiefs are 4-9 and have lost six in a row, including a 41-7
blowout loss to Denver this week.
They haven't won a playoff game since the 1993 season and appear
to need a major rebuilding job.
Peterson has run the Chiefs since 1989 and has two years left on
a five-year contract. He says he understands the fans' impatience
and disappointment, and says he feels the same way.
Edwards says everyone should blame him and no one else for this
season.
But Peterson is inviting everyone to hold him accountable and
says Edwards is doing an excellent job.
