Kansas basketball player Brandon Rush was arrested today on outstanding traffic warrants.
City prosecutors say a judge ordered Rush taken to jail when he went to court for two traffic matters. He was released later in the day.
In one case, Rush is charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding in October.
In the other, he's charged with driving on the wrong side of the road and having no proof of insurance when he was stopped a year ago.
Rush missed a court appearance last week and had not been scheduled to appear in court today.
The 6-foot-6 guard pulled his name out of last year's NBA draft after tearing his ACL.
He recently returned to the Jayhawks in a reserve role and is averaging 10 points a game in leading Number 3 Kansas to an 8-0
record.
