CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) -- Curtis Jerrells
scored 23 points as Baylor beat Wichita State 64-55 tonight in the
first round of the Paradise Jam.
Jerrells added eight rebounds and four assists for Baylor (2-0)
and Aaron Bruce scored 10.
Wichita State (1-1) led through most of the opening 20 minutes
but gave up nine unanswered points to close the first half. The
Shockers trailed 36-28 at halftime.
Phillip Thomasson and Matt Braeuer scored 12 points each for
Wichita State and Gal Mekel added 11.
