KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Kansas City running back Priest Holmes
went through a full practice today.
Coach Herm Edwards says Holmes even worked with the scout team
against the first-team defense.
Holmes is 34 years old and has been out of football since
suffering neck and spinal injuries two years ago. He was cleared to
practice for the first time since he showed up at training camp
Holmes has lost the 15 pounds he gained while he was out of
football, and he says he's ready to resume his career.
He had almost 6,000 yards rushing and 2,360 yards receiving from
2001 to 2006, and in 2003 he scored a then-NFL record 27
Edwards says he doesn't know whether Holmes will be activated
for this week's game at Oakland. Edwards says he will see how
Holmes feels tomorrow.
