KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Chiefs say running back Priest
Holmes will practice tomorrow for the first time since suffering a
severe head and neck injury in late October of 2005.
Kansas City traded backup running back Michael Bennett to Tampa
Bay today in exchange for draft picks, creating a spot behind
starter Larry Johnson. That adds to speculation the team might
activate Holmes in time for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
The 34-year-old Holmes is a three-time Pro Bowler and was one of
the most productive running backs in the NFL before his injury. He
owns 18 Chiefs single-game and career records, including career
marks for yards rushing, total touchdowns and rushing TDs.
