LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Kansas fans are used to seeing their team
in the top 25 -- the basketball team, not the football team.
But some fans are now considering what it would be like to have
a top 25 football team as the undefeated Jayhawks head into their
first game against a ranked team this season.
Kansas is 4-0 and has won by a combined score of 214-23, but
Saturday's game at No. 24 Kansas State is the Jayhawks' first road
game of the season.
And their wins are over four teams with a combined record of
4-15.
Kansas cornerback Aqib Talib says beating Kansas State and
getting a top 25 ranking would mean a lot. He says the Jayhawks
would look at that as a good first half of the season.
Kansas State coach Ron Prince says the Jayhawks will test the
Wildcats significantly.
