KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Kansas City running back Larry Johnson
sat out practice today with a sore hamstring. He also sat out
yesterday with the same problem.
Coach Herm Edwards says Johnson is expected to play Sunday at
Johnson managed only 42 yards on 24 carries last week against a
Minnesota defense that was stacked up at the line to stop him.
For the first three games, Johnson has 140 yards on 50 carries
for an average of 2.8 yards. He's far off last year's pace when he
rushed for a team record of 1,789 yards.
Michael Bennett says he's ready to fill in for Johnson on
Sunday, but he expects Johnson to be at full strength.
Bennett has carried only 16 times for 45 yards for the Chiefs
(1-2), and also has a 2.8-yard average.
