Tiger Woods says there is "no connection" between the neck pain that forced him to withdraw from The Players Championship and his Nov. 27 car accident.
Woods says during a news conference Monday that his neck started bothering him in the weeks leading up to the Masters, his first competition in five months. Woods says he feels pain in the right side of his neck.
He says he can deal with the pain but cannot deal with the spasms that affect his ability to turn his head. Woods withdrew from The Players Championship on Sunday. He says he fears the injury might be a bulging disk in his neck.
Woods was sent to an Orlando, Fla., hospital after his middle-of-the-night accident for a sore neck and a cut lip.
