One year ago, Tyler Matthews played back-up quarterback at Goddard High School. He threw for more than 1,000 yards over his last seven games. Now, he's a starter... at McPherson.
Transition can be a difficult process. But Matthews, has made it look easy. "Before the season even starts we've probably taken over a thousand reps with our offense, he's had plenty of time to get things down", said McPherson Head Coach Tom Young.
In his 1st game with the Bullpups, Matthews threw five touchdowns in a win over Andover. It also showcased his mental toughness in what he's overcome in the past 12 months. "Here everyone's real supportive, helping me out, great team, great guys, i'm just really enjoying it here", said Matthews.
