High school football teams lose senior contributors every year, but not everyone loses a class like Wichita Collegiate lost. Last year, the Spartans were undefeated Class 3A state champions with a record breaking offense. But the main components of that offense are gone. Head Coach Bill Messamore and his team have to regroup. "We told them it's okay to embrace comparisons to last year and other teams", Messamore said. "The expectations are always high here, it doesn't matter which team is on the field".

Not only do the Spartans have to teach many new starters, they'll also have to learn a new schedule with a new league and new opponents. This year Collegiate moves to AVCTL Division Four. "It's going to be a humbling experience for us, and we're excited about building new rivalries", Messamore said.
