After being a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award in 2011, Zunino was a lock to win the award on Thursday night.
Besides being selected 3rd overall in this month's MLB Amateur Draft, Zunino was one of the top hitters in college baseball.
He ranked Top 10 in the country for doubles, home run and total bases.
Behind the plate, he caught 30% of attempted base stealers and guided the Gators pitching staff to a 2.85 ERA.
To go along with the Bench Award, Zunino was named SEC Player of the Year and 1st Team All-American.
