The Butler Grizzlies entered Dodge City, and the 2012 season, with a relentless sense for finding the end zone, both offensively and defensively, rolling to a 72-12 win over Dodge City CC.

The Grizzlies scored 10 touchdowns, showcasing new quarterback Billy Cosh along the way as he passed for 315 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Running back Dreamius Smith of Wichita shared the spotlight with 3 scores of his own, the first being on a 24 yard catch and run out of the backfield. But it was his final touchdown that created the buzz sure to flow into Butler's home opener next Saturday. Smith broke through the Conquistador front 7 with quick cuts and sped 55 yards for his second rushing TD, making the score 42-6 with 11:21 to play in the 3rd quarter.

That was the second longest run of the night, as Ty Suggs went 74 yards for the Grizzlies' final touchdown, creating the 72-12 final tally.

Butler's defense accounted for 2 touchdowns, with Torrell Saffold and Max Martinez returning interceptions for points.

Butler will host Blinn, Texas, the former school of Heisman winner Cam Newton, on Saturday as the school debuts the $12 million BG Products Veterans Sports Complex in El Dorado.
